Name :
Recombinant Human Kallikrein 1 Protein (His Tag), HPLC-verified
Biological Activity :
Background :
KLK1 (Kallikrein 1) is a Protein Coding gene. This gene is one of the fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a cluster on chromosome 19. This protein is functionally conserved in its capacity to release the vasoactive peptide, Lys-bradykinin, from low molecular weight kininogen. Human tissue kallikrein (KLK1) is a serine protease, a component of the KKS that has been demonstrated to exert pleiotropic beneficial effects in protection from tissue injury through its anti-inflammatory, antiapoptotic, antifibrotic, and antioxidative actions. Polymorphism of the human tissue kallikrein 1 (KLK1) A1789G gene is associated with susceptibility to hypertension. Diseases associated with KLK1 include Kallikrein, Decreased Urinary Activity Of and Hereditary Angioedema.
Biological Activity :
Measured by its ability to cleave a flourogenic peptide substrate Pro-Phe-Arg-7-amido-4-methylcoumarin (PFR-AMC). The specific activity is >1,500 pmoles/min/μg.(Activation description: The proenzyme needs to be activated by Thermolysin for an activated form)

Amino Acid Sequence :
Molecular Weight :
The secreted recombinant human KLK1 is a monomeric protein after cleavage of the signal peptide. It consists of 251 amino acids and predictes a molecular mass of 28 kDa. In SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, it migrates with the apparent molecular mass of 50 kDa due to glycosylation.
Purity :
≥ 95 % as determined by SDS-PAGE. ≥ 95 % as determined by SEC-HPLC.

Storage and Stability :
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Endotoxin Level :
< 1.0 EU per μg of the protein as determined by the LAL method
Protein Construction :
A DNA sequence encoding the human KLK1 (NP_002248.1) precursor (Met 1-Ser 262) was expressed with a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.
Buffer Solution :
Lyophilized from sterile PBS, pH 7.4.Please contact us for any concerns or special requirements. Normally 5 % – 8 % trehalose, mannitol and 0.01% Tween80 are added as protectants before lyophilization. Please refer to the specific buffer information in the hardcopy of datasheet.
Shipping :
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature.Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise.
Redissolution :
A hardcopy of datasheet with reconstitution instructions is sent along with the products. Please refer to it for detailed information.
