Biochem/physiol Actions:
HTR1A is a post-synaptic 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor important in serotonergic functions. It negatively regulates 5-HT neuronal activity and has been implicated in mood regulation and responses to stress and emotions. Altered expression of HTR1A results in anxiety and depression.
